Frontiers in Developmental Biology

The Japanese Society of Developmental Biologists (JSDB) and the the German society for developmental biology (Gesellschaft für Entwicklungsbiologie – GfE) have been closely collaborating and have held joint-society meetings three time in 2018, 2019 and 2021. In October 2018, with the aim of promoting exchange and globalization of young researchers of both societies, the first JSDB-GfE young scientist exchange meeting was held in Germany. The 2nd meeting was held in Kyoto and Osaka in May 2019, and the 3rd was held online in2021 due to the COVID19. This time, we will hold the 4th meeting in July 2023 at Sendai.

We will ask young German researchers to visit Japan and present their research achievements during our workshop in Sendai and the annual meeting, while providing them also with ample opportunities to meet with Japanese young researchers and learn about the activities of developmental biology research in Japan.

日本発生生物学会（JSDB）とドイツ発生生物学会(GfE)はこれまでも密に連携しており、これまでに3度の合同学会の開催を行ってきた。2018年10月には、両学会の若手研究者の交流およびグローバル化を促進することを目的として、第1回日独合同若手ミーティングをドイツで開催いたしました。2019年5月には第2回ミーティングを京都・大阪で行い、ドイツの若手研究者に日本の研究施設を訪問してもらいました。第3回はコロナ禍のためオンラインで開催しました。今回、第56回発生生物学会年会（仙台大会）にあわせ、第4回ミーティングを行います。
